My new methods and findings
All the various methods of moving the stones have been discussed in all the literature. Many of the problems that occur when transporting stones were either not mentioned at all or were just skimmed over.
The classic examples of this are the sleds in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo and the use of lubricants.
The Port-Starboard Method:
Friction was only a minor problem for the Egyptians.
They had to find a way of heaving the stones over the edges of the ever-steeper ramps. The Port-Starboard Method introduced here was also mentioned in Egyptian inscriptions.
